| Back when I was one of the managers of a restaurant, I would have several people coming to the front everyday, asking to speak to the manager because they wanted to apply for a job. How would I get any work done if I had to stop 6 or 7 times a day to go to the front and talk to all these people? Most likely the cashier is instructed to only take in applications, and not bother the manager unless it has something to do with a customer. One way you could get around this, is to ask for the managers business card. You can then send the manager your application directly, along with a suitable cover letter. At least you will know he got it. Restaurants have literally hundred of applicants every month. You just have to keep pounding the pavement until you get an interview. |
